Cat Ferguson - RN
Cat has been nursing since 1994. She started at Richmond General Hospital working on the acute medical/surgical floors then moved to Vancouver General Hospital where she floated between the Gynecology & Urology surgical floors and the InVitro Fertilization procedure room. Cat joined Dr. Alastair Carruthers at the Skin Care Center in January 1999 and helped launch his cosmetic practice in December 1999. Living in Vancouver, Cat enjoys working out, shopping and traveling.
Marianna Fotiou - RN, BSN
Marianna graduated from Kwantlen University College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She started her career on an acute surgical floor and after 3 years she decided to pursue a career in the cosmetic industry. She joined the Carruthers’ team in July of 2008. Marianna enjoys traveling, eating great food and spending time with loved ones.
Catherine Nordman - RN, BSN
Catherine began her skincare training at The Blanche Macdonald Centre for Applied Design and graduated from the Esthetics Diploma program in 2001. She developed her skills at several high end spas in Vancouver specializing in facial treatments and mineral cosmetics. She then moved to Toronto in 2006 to advance her medical aesthetic skills and knowledge. She graduated from the Ryerson University Nursing Degree Program (BScN) in 2010 and became a Registered Nurse in British Columbia. Throughout her years of training and work in cosmetic medicine she has developed a passion for cosmetics, laser treatments and medical grade skincare. She attends advanced education skin and laser seminars and conferences annually. She loves shopping and travelling to exotic destinations. Her favorite activities in the city include biking on the seawall, boating, kayaking and paddle boarding.
Sherisse Santos Nichol - RN, BSN
Sherisse spent some of her early years in Long Island, New York before moving to beautiful BC. She completed her nursing degree from the University of Victoria in 2002. After nursing school, her area of focus became surgery, and she worked on several wards throughout St. Paul’s Hospital. She joined Dr. Carruthers’ team in 2006 to pursue her passion for the Cosmetic industry. She is now studying to receive her Masters of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner. Sherisse’s interests include traveling, working out, and fashion.
Janet Teodosio - RN
Janet is a Torontonian by birth but has also lived in Texas and Michigan. She moved to Richmond, BC with her family in 1988. Janet worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital while completing her Nursing Diploma at Douglas College. After graduating in 1999 she began a full-time position in Neurosurgery at Royal Columbian Hospital. In 2002, she joined the Carruthers’ Team and has since enjoyed the great friendships that have formed. She currently lives in Vancouver and enjoys traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Chrissy Bynuck - BA, Clinic Coordinator
Chrissy started working with Dr. Alastair Carruthers in March 2005 after finishing her Bachelor of Arts Degree at UFV. As part of the administrative team, she will be one of the first people you will speak to when calling the office. She really enjoys the high level of care that is provided to the patients who are a part of the clinic, many of whom she’s known for a long time now. When not in the office, Chrissy enjoys spending time camping and exploring the outdoors with her family.
Monika Romanowski – MUA, LE, Clinic Coordinator
Monika graduated from Blanche Macdonald in 2003 with an Applied Design Licence in Esthetics and Special Effects Make-up Artistry. She has worked in the cosmetic industry for over 10 years from working at a high-end Day Spa to managing a busy Cosmetic Laser Centre in downtown Vancouver. Working as a Medical Laser Technician she developed extensive knowledge of medical grade laser, skin care lines and injectable cosmetic treatments all the while doing make-up photo-shoots on the side! She joined Carruthers & Humphrey’s clinic in 2010 where she is currently the Clinic Coordinator and continues to pursue her passion for the cosmetic industry. Monika is a self-proclaimed foodie and loves to cook, shop and travel!
Jessica Miskiewicz – AS, CPOA, Executive Coordinator
Jessica joins the Carruthers & Humphrey team with over 10 years in client service experience. She gained her Associates degree and her Paraoptometric Assistant diploma in Optometry but realized medical aesthetics is where her interest lies. She has also worked in the plastic surgery field and is one of the first point of contacts when you are calling the office. Her calm and positive energy can be attributed to her passion for yoga.
Shu-min Peng – MD, Clinical Research Project Manager
After graduating from medical school, Shumin became a neurologist and worked in the Neurosurgical Center of Beijing. In 1988, Shumin moved to Dublin, Ireland to pursue a career in research, where she worked at the Neuroscience Institute of Dublin and Beaumont Hospital. After living on two different continents, Shumin continued her journey to Vancouver, where she worked at B.C. Children’s Hospital with the pediatric neurology team and the University of British Columbia. In 2000, Shumin joined the Carruthers & Humphrey research team. In her spare time, Shumin enjoys reading, traveling, yoga and shopping with her daughter.
Jude Poirier – RN, MSN, Clinical Research Project Manager
Jude’s background is in nursing, and she completed her training at the University of Victoria, the University of British Columbia and at Vancouver General Hospital. Jude has worked in Research since 1997 and prior to coming to Carruthers Clinical Research she was involved in clinical trials in ICU, emergency, cardiac, anaesthesia, haematology and oncology. Jude has been part of the research team with the Carruthers & Humphrey organization since 2001 and believes that she has the best job ever! When not at work Jude can be found pursuing her addiction to theatre and performance art.
